Srinagar, Jan 01 (KNO): Continuing its sustained efforts to curb the menace of drug trafficking, Police in Budgam have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
According to a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), a police team from Police Station Budgam, during patrolling in village Karipora near the Railway Crossing, intercepted two suspicious persons. On seeing the police party, they attempted to flee but were promptly apprehended. They have been identified as Zahoor Ahmad Bhat, son of Ghulam Qadir Bhat, resident of Ompora, Budgam; and Amir Ahmad Gojri, son of Ghulam Mohammad Gojri, resident of Mohanpora, Budgam. During search, charas-like substances weighing approximately 47.38 grams was recovered from their possession. One mobile phone was also seized.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 347/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Budgam, and investigation has been initiated.
